Models 400, 800, 1400, 1800 and Express II all monitor for these
potential problems, and call you right away--before your animals
suffer or you lose valuable inventory. Both offer the features listed
below.
Temperature: Built-in temperature
monitoring. You know if the temperature deviates from optimum conditions
for your hogs, chickens or other livestock. Temperature limits can
be programmed from -20º to +150º F (-30º to 65º
C). Additional remote temperature monitoring sensors are
also available. Ventilation/Fans: Monitor the
integrity of the ventilation system. Know immediately if circuits
fail and fan motors stop operating. Power Failure & Surges:
Built-in monitoring for power failure. Know right away if your feeding
systems, sprinklers, fans, incubators, lights or HVAC units have
failed. You can program how long a power outage lasts before you
need to be informed, from 0 seconds to 272 minutes. Both units are
equipped for back-up batteries to keep them running for approximately
24 hours after a power failure. Both units have internal surge protection
built in. However, Phonetics advises that you protect your Sensaphone,
and other electrical equipment connected to your phone line, with
additional external surge protection. We recommend the Isotel
Surge Protector. Smoke & Fire Alarms: Built-in
sound monitoring. If you have a smoke detector or other alarm installed,
your Sensaphone will hear it and respond. You program the level
and duration of sound to which the Sensaphone responds. You can
also call in at any time and listen to sounds on location through
the Sensaphone's built-in microphone.The model 400 monitors four
sensors--temperature, power failure, and two more of your choice--and
calls up to four 32-digit phone numbers. The model 800 monitors up to
eight sensors, and calls up to eight 32-digit phone numbers. The model 1400 monitors
4 dry contact inputs (configured as N.O./N.C.), plus temperature
and AC power. It comes with an SPDT Form C contact output, capable
of switching up to 5 Amps. Express stores up to eight 32-digit phone
numbers. Its backup battery offers approximately 12 hours of emergency
power.
Sensaphone Express II comes with 8 universal inputs, configurable as dry contact, pulse
count, 0-5V or 4-20mA analog, or temperature. Expansion cards allow
you to increase that to that to a maximum of 40 channels (on 5 cards)
to monitor multiple enclosures, sensors and environments, or to
mix input and outputs. One outlet is built in; you can expand the
output capacity up to 16 channels (on two cards), in which case
input is limited to 24 channels. Express II can call up to 48 phone
contacts, utilizing dialing schedules you customize.
All models allow you to call in at any time to check conditions.
In the 400 and 800 the alarms are announced in a clear, high quality
voice. Both Express and Express II allow you to record your own
ID and custom alarm messages. All units can share a phone line with
other equipment, and have proven reliable, providing over a decade
of service in more than 250,000 installations. Sensaphones are manufactured
in the USA.
NOTE: While the 400 and 800 are economically priced, they are
not designed for installation directly in extreme environments
where they are likely to encounter water, dirt, or chemical agents.
You should keep the monitors in a clean environment. Our
Remote Monitor Sensors allow you to keep the units out of harsh
environments. However, for such environments Phonetics, Inc. recommends
you consider our industrial, NEMA-enclosed Sensaphones, the 1400, 1800 and Express II.
